CALENDAR TOOL

Weekly Scheduler

See your week before it sees you.

Freelance life doesn't run on a fixed schedule — and that's kind of the point. This tool is here to help you map what's actually happening in your week, spot where you're stretching yourself too thin, and make sure the things that keep you sane are actually in the calendar.

  1. Start with what's already locked in. Client calls, deadlines, appointments — anything with a fixed time goes in first.
  2. Block out your non-negotiables. Sleep, meals, movement, rest. These aren't optional extras — they're infrastructure.
  3. Add your work blocks. Deep focus time, admin, creative work — and be honest about how long things actually take.
  4. Look at what's left. White space isn't wasted time. It's where you breathe.
  • Sleep — Consistent sleep and wake times stabilise everything else. Non-negotiable.
  • Meals — Eating at your desk while working doesn't count as a break. Block it out.
  • Movement — Even a 20-minute walk changes your mental state. Schedule it like a meeting. Flow Arts is especially recommended — it combines physical movement with creativity and presence.
  • Rest — Not the same as sleep. This is intentional downtime that restores you.
  • Connection — Freelancing can get lonely fast. Time with people matters.
  • Something you love — A hobby, a practice, a creative outlet. Not work-adjacent. Just yours.

Rest looks different depending on what your day actually does to you. The goal of rest is to recover what your day depletes — it depends on whether your work taxes your body, your mind, or both.

DESK JOB / MENTAL WORK

→ Move your body

Dancing, flow arts, a walk, a swim. Physical movement is mentally restorative when your day has been still and screen-heavy.

ACTIVE / PHYSICAL JOB

→ Let your body stop

Reading, watching a show, lying down. If your body has been working all day, rest means giving it actual stillness — not more movement.

There's no perfect week. Some weeks are heavier, some lighter. The point isn't to fill every block — it's to see where you actually are, and make one or two intentional choices from there.
